The Signature Smiles Team is well versed in modern cosmetic treatment. Whether you're looking for a subtle change in your look or a complete smile make-over, we have the training and attention to detail that ensures an exceptional outcome. Dr. Dowd and Dr. Wu both have advanced cosmetic training beyond traditional dental school, including training at the prestigious Las Vegas Insitute for Advanced Dental Studies.

Cavity Laser

Part of our armamentarium includes the Kavo Diagnodent Cavity Detecting Laser. This laser is well tested and recommended by leaders in the field of preventive dentistry. Utilizing a small laser light, the Diagnodent can detect small cavities growing beneath the surface of the tooth. Usually small cavities form through microscopic holes in the tooth. They must grow to a certain size before they are detectable by traditional means. This laser is able to detect cavities earlier, so that they destroy less tooth structure. More conservative fillings can be placed to fix these cavities earlier.

Digital X-rays

We employ digital x-rays, a modern replacement for celluloid films with a multitude of benefits. They reduce radiation exposure to patients by 95 percent, and can be enlarged and adjusted to visualize abnormalities.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers are finding their way into the dental office in a number of different ways. We employ the Kavo Diagnodent Laser to help diagnose cavities before they are clinically detectable by traditional means. A soft tissue laser is used to help recontour gum tissue for cosmetic changes and help sterilize periodontal pockets during debridement.

Intraoral Cameras

Specialized cameras are installed in each treatment area which can be used in the mouth to take photos. Pictures are taken before, during or after treatment to enhance patient education.

Digital Education System

We employ casey, a DVD patient educational film to help describe oral conditions and their treatments. They are breif movies reviewing key points of treatment to answer common questions. Please feel free to ask to review any of these at any time.

Ultrasonics

We utilize ultrasonics as part of our cleaning as well as scaling/root planing protocol. Ultrasonic scalers can be gentler on the teeth than scalers , yet do a superb job of removing fine calcuclus and plaque.

A self service custom brew coffee and tea center is located in the reception area to warm your pallette on those rainy seattle days. Feel free to take one to go... Please let us know if their is a beverage you would like to see added to our collection.

WiFi computer access is available throughout our office for your convenience. If you have problems accessing the network, please ask for assistance.

A personal computer is located in the reception area to help serve your needs. Check e-mail, complete research or just surf the net. Please ask if you need to send a fax or print a document.

We have a dynamic variety of DVD movies, documentaries and music CD's for your enjoyment. Or..feel free to bring your own. We welcome suggestions for building our collection.

Headphones are conveniently located in each treatment area for your pleasure to listen to our eclectic selecion of DVD movies, documentaries and music CD's.

We have several Game Boy hand held video games for visitors to help occupy their time.
